After a rail career spanning 53 years, loco engineer Fred Hamer, spent his final shift driving Steam Incorporated’s Ja1271 from Palmerston North to Paekakariki on Saturday 7th June 2008.
Andrew Gorrie of the Dominion Post captured the occasion.
