TO PAEKAKARIKI |
The train will run from Paekakariki to Paekakariki via Wellington, Masterton, Woodville & Palmerston North. Travelling over one of Wellington’s best kept secrets, the grand circle route, we will circumnavigate the Tararua Range in a counter clock wise direction. The train will be hauled by our recently refurbished diesel locomotive and comprise our fleet of classic red “steel” cars (see photo at bottom of this page). An open air viewing platform is included on the train.
This trip has been scheduled to coincide with an event at Woodville to mark the 125th anniversary of the opening of the railway from Napier to Woodville. An extended stop will be made at Woodville to enable you to see some of the anniversary displays and to enjoy the range of refreshments on offer.
