The returning run of The 2010 Eketahuna Express was captured near Hukanui by Doug Johnston.
An afternoon steam hauled excursion from Taumarunui to Ohakune and return helping to celebrate the Centenary of the Taumarunui Borough. Departs Taumarunui 12.30pm (after arrival of southbound Overlander), arrives back at 7.30pm.
Adult fare only $85, Child $60.
Motel accommodation available in Taumarunui for $65 per night twin share.

Following the huge success of recent runs of our diesel hauled “Endeavour Express” over this line we are trying to slot in some additional trips during 2010.

A short tour covering many of our regular destinations in 7 days. From Wednesday 13th October to Tuesday 19th October 2010.
Over night stops at Napier, Gisborne, Feilding and Wanganui. Most sectors will be hauled by steam locomotive Ja1271 and using our set of red heritage carriages. Highlights include travel over the Napier-Gisborne rail line, and the use of Wa165 from GCVR and Wab794 from F&DSRS on some sections. Depot visits will include the Pahiatua Railcar Society, Feilding & Districts Steam Rail Society and Steam Incorporated.
