50 birthday trips poster

To celebrate our 50 years of heritage rail we are offering members, past members and the public to join us for a day trip from Wellington to Woodville and return. We are using all our locomotives and carriages and offering four options for the day. Ja 1271 & Ab 608 will be at the head of the 'Coastal Steam' , and our pair of Da's, 1410 & 1431 will head up the Wairarapa with the 'Bush Rambler'. An excursion like this has NEVER happened before!

On departing Wellington both trains will run alongside each other on the Up lines before parting company north of Kaiwharawhara.

Both trains are timetabled for similar arrivals into Woodville. During the 75 minute lunch stop at Woodville the trains will be turned and serviced ready for their return journeys. The lovely people from the Woodville Station Trust have kindly agreed to provide support during the stop over time with some food and craft stalls showcasing local produce and crafts set up at the recently renovated station. Please note that stalls vary with each visit depending on the availability of the artisans. There will be photo opportunities at Woodville before boarding for the return trips to Wellington.
